Role and Responsibilities:

As a Housing Disrepair Solicitor at Axis Solicitors, you will be an integral part of our dynamic legal team, handling diverse housing law cases. Your primary focus will be on providing expert advice, support, and representation to clients dealing with various housing law issues, including but not limited to:

Client Representation:

Represent clients who have experienced housing disrepair issues, including but not limited to issues related to dampness, leaks, structural defects, and other disrepair matters.

Legal Advice:

Provide expert legal advice and guidance to clients on their rights, responsibilities, and potential courses of action pertaining to housing disrepair cases.

Case Management:

Manage a caseload efficiently and effectively, ensuring all cases progress on time, and deliver high-quality legal services to our clients.

Litigation:

Prepare, draft, and file necessary legal documents and court pleadings, and conduct litigation proceedings as required to pursue clients’ claims.

Negotiation:

Engage in negotiations with opposing parties, including landlords, property management companies, and insurers, to reach favourable settlements on behalf of our clients.

Client Communication:

Maintain regular and clear communication with clients, keeping them informed about the progress of their cases and addressing any concerns they may have.

Legal Research:

Stay up-to-date with relevant housing laws, regulations, and case precedents, and apply this knowledge to strengthen clients’ cases.

Team Collaboration:

Collaborate with other solicitors, paralegals, and support staff within the firm to share knowledge and resources, fostering a supportive and productive team environment.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

A qualified Solicitor admitted to practise in England and Wales with a solid academic background in Housing Law.

Experience:

Demonstrable experience handling housing disrepair cases is preferred, though exceptional candidates with relevant transferable skills will also be considered.

Communication:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly and understandably.

Empathy:

Strong empathy and interpersonal skills to effectively connect with clients and understand their challenges.
